LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION March 2, 2011 TO: Honorable Jim Jackson, Chair, House Committee on Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE:HB149 by Raymond (Relating to the appointment of a parenting coordinator or parenting facilitator in a suit affecting the parent-child relationship.), As Introduced No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Family Code to allow a court to appoint a parenting coordinator in a suit affecting a parent-child relationship on a volunteer basis and without compensation if a domestic relations or other county agency are unavailable and minimum qualifications are met. The analysis assumes any additional work resulting from implementing the provisions of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
