A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the contracting authority of the Val Verde County
Hospital District.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 11(b), Chapter 658, Acts of the 64th
Legislature, Regular Session, 1975, is amended to read as follows:
(b) Construction [All] contracts [for construction]
involving the expenditure of more than $100,000 shall [$15,000 may]
be procured [made only after advertising] in the manner provided by
Subchapter B, Chapter 271, Local Government Code. All[, or all]
contracts for purchases involving the expenditure of more than
$100,000, other than contracts subject to Subchapter B, Chapter
271, Local Government Code, or Chapter 2253, Government Code, shall
[$15,000 may] be procured [made only after advertising] in the
manner provided by Subchapter C, Chapter 262, Local Government
Code. The provisions of Chapter 2253, Government Code, relating to
performance and payment bonds, shall apply to construction
contracts let by the district.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
