                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 20, 2011      TO: Honorable Robert Duncan, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1570 by Murphy (Relating to training for deputy voter registrars.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Election Code to require a regular and volunteer deputy registrar to complete training prior to assisting with voter registration. The voter registrar would be required to provide information regarding the training times and places. The bill would require the Secretary of State (SOS) to adopt standards of training, develop materials and distribute materials to each county voter registrar. Training standards may include the passage of a test at the end of the training program. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
