The bill would amend Chapter 505, Occupations Code, to specify that a person may not engage in the practice of social work unless licensed by the chapter. Applicants with degrees from graduate programs in candidacy for accreditation would be eligible to take the licensing examination.  The Department of State Health Services indicates that implementation of the bill could be absorbed with existing resources.
