                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 5, 2011      TO: Honorable Byron Cook, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1870 by Giddings (Relating to judicial review in district court of certain workers' compensation disputes.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to judicial review in district court of certain workers' compensation disputes.  Based on the analysis by the Texas Department of Insurance, the Office of Injured Employee Counsel, the State Office of Administrative Hearings, the State Office of Risk Management, the University of Texas System Administration, Texas A&M University System and the Texas Department of Transportation, it is assumed that all duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished within existing agency resources.   Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to judicial review in district court of certain workers' compensation disputes.
