The bill would amend the provisions of the Occupations Code regarding agreements between manufacturers, distributors and dealers, and would provide for a civil penalty for a manufacturer or distributor violating the chapter's provisions not to exceed $500 per violation. The bill would provide that the Attorney General may sue to collect the penalty, along with the recovery of any expenses. To the extent the bill would amend certain terms of agreements, including annual performance standards, and provide penalties, no significant fiscal implication to the state is anticipated. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
