                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 6, 2011      TO: Honorable Aaron Pena, Chair, House Committee on Technology      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1972 by Harper-Brown (Relating to electronic reports and correspondence submitted to state agencies by public entities.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend Government code to require state agencies to encourage public entities to electronically submit all reports and correspondence required by law. The bill would permit the receiving agency to request a paper copy of the required report or correspondence submitted electronically. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011 This analysis assumes that any costs associated with implementing the bill's provisions could be met with existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
