The bill would amend the Local Government Code to exempt additional internal investigative divisions from being forced to expunge records in regard to disciplinary action taken against a fire fighter or police officer. The bill also would limit a department, commission, or municipality from releasing a photograph of a police officer unless the officer is charged with an offense, involved in a civil service hearing, used as evidence in a judiciary proceeding, or gives written consent. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
