                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 29, 2011      TO: Honorable Byron Cook, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2088 by Smithee (Relating to failure to submit to an examination by a designated doctor under the workers' compensation system.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to failure to submit to an examination by a designated doctor under the workers' compensation system. Based on the analysis by the Texas Department of Insurance, the Texas Department of Transportation, and Texas A&M University System, it is assumed that all duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. It is assumed that the duties and responsibilities associated with the University of Texas System Administration, the State Office of Risk Management, or the Texas Tech University System implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing agency resources.  Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to failure to submit to an examination by a designated doctor under the workers' compensation system.
