                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 6, 2011      TO: Honorable Pete Gallego, Chair, House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2118 by Coleman (Relating to adding certain synthetic compounds to Penalty Group 2 of the Texas Controlled Substances Act. ), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code by adding any compound structurally derived from 2-aminopropanal by substitution at the 1-position with any monocyclic or fused-polycyclic ring system to Penalty Group 2 of the Texas Controlled Substances Act. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2011. The Department of Public Safety anticipates no significant fiscal impact to the State from this bill.
