A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the priority of oil or gas well inspections by the
Railroad Commission of Texas.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 91, Natural Resources
Code, is amended by adding Section 91.10125 to read as follows:
Sec. 91.10125. PRIORITY OF INSPECTIONS OF OIL OR GAS WELLS.
In determining the order or frequency with which members or
employees of the commission inspect oil or gas wells, the
commission shall give priority to oil or gas wells that are located
in a county:
(1) with a population of 650,000 or more; and
(2) in which there are more than 2,000 producing oil or
gas wells.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
