A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the HIV Medication Program Advisory Committee.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 85.066, Health and Safety Code, is
amended to read as follows:
Sec. 85.066. ADVISORY COMMITTEE. The executive
commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission shall
[board may] appoint an advisory committee to advise the department
concerning [assist in the development of] procedures and guidelines
required by this subchapter.
SECTION 2. Not later than January 1, 2012, the executive
commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission shall
appoint the advisory committee as provided by Section 85.066,
Health and Safety Code, as amended by this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
