The bill would amend provisions in Chapter 2301, Occupations Code, relating to the regulation of motor vehicle dealers, manufacturers, and distributors by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The bill would amend various provisions and factors for consideration relating to the transfer and termination of a franchise by a dealer, manufacturer, distributor, or representative subject to Chapter 2301. Based on the analysis of DMV, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
