The bill amends Sections 56.011 and 56.012 of the Education Code to state these sections, which specify a portion of designated tuition set asides must be used for financial assistance, do not apply to increases in tuitions in excess of $46 per semester credit hour that occur after February 1, 2011, to the extent that such increases are matched by a equal reduction in required student fees. Provisions of the bill would be implemented within existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
