The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure as it relates to the extrajurisdictional apprehension of a child. The bill states that a child who is lawfully taken into custody may be detained, interviewed, and processed in accordance with federal law or the laws of the other state. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011. The bill would pose no significant fiscal impact to the state. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
