                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 8, 2011      TO: Honorable Harvey Hilderbran, Chair, House Committee on Ways & Means      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2387 by Menendez (Relating to the selection, compensation, and duties of the general counsel to an appraisal district.), As Introduced    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would allow the board of directors of an appraisal district to employ a general counsel to the district to serve at the will of the board. The general counsel would provide counsel directly to the board and perform other duties and responsibilities as determined by the board. The general counsel would be entitled to compensation as provided by the budget adopted by the board.
