       AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT   C.S.H.B. 2516 amends current law relating to the appeal of an indefinite suspension of a municipal firefighter.   RULEMAKING AUTHORITY   This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.    SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS   SECTION 1. Amends Section 143.120, Local Government Code, by adding Subsection (c-1) to prohibit a temporary suspension of a firefighter under Subsection (c)(2) (relating to temporary suspension from the department) from exceeding 90 calendar days.   SECTION 2.  Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2011.

C.S.H.B. 2516 amends current law relating to the appeal of an indefinite suspension of a municipal firefighter.

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

 

SECTION 1. Amends Section 143.120, Local Government Code, by adding Subsection (c-1) to prohibit a temporary suspension of a firefighter under Subsection (c)(2) (relating to temporary suspension from the department) from exceeding 90 calendar days.

 

SECTION 2.  Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2011.
