The bill would prohibit the Department of Family and Protective Services from prohibiting the foster parent of a child who resides in a family home from transporting the child in a vehicle where a handgun is present under certain circumstances. The agency indicates any cost to implement provisions of the bill would be minimal and can be absorbed within available resources.
