The bill would amend the Government Code relating to the continuation and functions of the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. The Department of Housing and Community Affairs is subject to the Sunset Act and would be abolished on September 1, 2011 unless continued by the Legislature. The bill would continue the agency for 12 years. Based on the analysis of the Sunset Advisory Commission and the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs , it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
