The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to the authority of the Office of Injured Employee Counsel (OIEC) under the workers' compensation program to obtain grant funding. Based on the analysis by OIEC, it is assumed that all duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished within existing agency resources. Based on the analysis provided by the Texas Department of Insurance, implementation of this bill will have no fiscal impact on the agency. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
