                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 29, 2011      TO: Honorable Byron Cook, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2757 by Pena (Relating to the establishment of the Texas Commission on Immigration and Migration and a migrant worker visa pilot project.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  This bill would amend the Government Code and establish a 26-member Commission on Immigration and Migration, an advisory commission, and be staffed by the Office of the Attorney General. The Commission would meet quarterly and at other times as directed by the Governor. In addition, the bill would create a pilot project for migrant worker visas. It is anticipated that any additional costs associated with implementation of the legislation could be absorbed within existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
