The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to establish a deferral program for Driver Responsibility Program (DRP) surcharges for Driving While License Invalid or Without Financial Responsibility or Driving Without Valid License assessed against active duty military members who are deployed outside the United States. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011. No significant fiscal implication to the state is anticipated.
