The bill would amend Chapter 681 of the Transportation Code to add recipients of Silver Star Medal specialty plates to the persons authorized an exemption from the payment of a parking fee collected through a parking meter charged by a governmental authority other than a branch of the federal government. Based on the analysis of the Department of Motor Vehicles, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
