The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to indicate certain communications or records that contain identifying information regarding a person who receives a forensic medical examination are confidential. The bill would take effect immediately upon a two-thirds vote of all the members in each house. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2011. Both the Office of the Attorney General and the Department of Public Safety anticipate no significant fiscal impact from the bill. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
