The bill would amend the Transportation Code to expand the permitted instances in which electronic information derived from drivers licenses or personal identification certificates may be accessed or used. The bill would take effect immediately upon a two-thirds vote of all the members of each house. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2011. The Department of Public Safety anticipates no significant fiscal impact from the bill. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
