 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
relating to the renewal of an expired cosmetology operator license.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 1602, Occupations Code, is
amended by adding Section 1602.355 to read as follows:
Sec. 1602.355. RENEWAL OF EXPIRED OPERATOR LICENSE. A
person may renew an expired operator license by complying with the
requirements for an original license. An applicant for renewal
under this section who applies for renewal before the third

license that is filed before the effective date of this Act is
governed by the law in effect on the date the application was filed,
and the former law is continued in effect for that purpose.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
