The bill would amend the Government Code to provide guidelines for office of inspector general of the Department of Public Safety regarding investigations, appointments, oversight, and administrative support. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011. The Department of Public Safety anticipates no significant fiscal impact to the State from the bill.
