                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 1, 2011      TO: Honorable Joe Deshotel, Chair, House Committee on Business & Industry      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3229 by Hernandez Luna (Relating to the right of an employee who is a victim of a crime to time off from work to attend court proceedings related to that crime.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  This bill would amend the Labor Code relating to the right of an employee who is a victim of a crime to time off from work to attend court proceedings related to that crime. Based on the analysis of the Texas Workforce Commission, The University of Texas System Administration, Texas Tech University System Administration, Texas A&M University System Administrative and General Offices, Central Education Agency and Higher Education Coordinating Board,  it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. This bill would amend the Labor Code relating to the right of an employee who is a victim of a crime to time off from work to attend court proceedings related to that crime.
