                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 11, 2011      TO: Honorable Pete Gallego, Chair, House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3381 by Fletcher (Relating to the circumstances under which a final judgment of bond forfeiture may be reformed under a special bill of review.), As Introduced    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to require a court to consider certain factors when determining whether to grant a request for a reformation of the final judgment and a remittance, and would specify factors that a court may consider when determining the amount of remittance granted for a special bill of review. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each house. If the bill does not receive the votes required to pass, the bill would take effect September 1, 2011. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
