                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 18, 2011      TO: Honorable Rob Eissler, Chair, House Committee on Public Education      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB349 by Walle (Relating to requiring a school district to adopt a policy and collect data regarding restraints administered and citations issued by a school district peace officer.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.   The agency estimates cost associated with updating Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS). It is anticipated that any additional costs associated with implementation of the legislation could be absorbed within existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.   The cost to update the local student information system (SIS) to collect the new data would vary by district.  School districts would likely incur some administrative costs to collect and submit information on restraints, citations, and arrests.
