                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 12, 2011      TO: Honorable Bill Callegari, Chair, House Committee on Government Efficiency & Reform      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3684 by Callegari (Relating to evaluating and providing for efficient government resource allocation.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require fiscal notes on resolutions granting permission to sue the state under the Civil Practices and Remedies Code, sec. 107.002,  and on joint resolutions and concurrent resolutions. The bill would also require Sunset review of "unfunded mandates" that affect political subdivisions.  The bill would have immediate effect upon a two-thirds vote of the members of the Legislature. Otherwise the bill would take effect September 1, 2011.  Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
