The bill would prohibit a gas or electric corporation from constructing a transmission line on or adjacent to land designated by the Legislature as a site of unique value. If the gas or electric corporation would need to remove, reconstruct, or relocate an existing transmission line, the corporation would be required to bear the cost for such removal, reconstruction, or relocation. The bill's passage is not expected to result in significant costs to the Railroad Commission or the Public Utility Commission.
