The bill amends Health and Safety Code, Section 161 to make the Texas immunization registry (ImmTrac) an opt-out database, where the information will be in the database unless the person, or their authorized representative, requests its removal. Currently, DSHS is required to verify consent before including immunization-related information in ImmTrac. The bill would also eliminate post-disaster retention periods for data in ImmTrac related to those disasters. It is assumed that any costs associated with modifications to the ImmTrac registry application to implement the bill changes could be absorbed within existing agency resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
