                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 7, 2011      TO: Honorable Sid Miller, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB621 by Fletcher (Relating to the regulation of law enforcement officers by the Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to the regulation of law enforcement officers by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education and adding continuing education requirements for county jailers and police chiefs.  The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education indicates that no fiscal implication is anticipated.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2011. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
