Local Government Impact School districts would be required to allow students with disabilities or illnesses that prevented them from participating in physical activity to substitute academic classes for the PE requirement and would be required to establish committees to determine eligibility. If a school district received a large number of requests from students not receiving special education services, the school district could incur costs associated with convening the required committees. These costs are not expected to be significant.
