The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure relating to restoration of certain rights to acriminal defendant. The bill would allow a person convicted of any state offense to submit an application for restoration of any civil rights forfeited under state laws as a result of the conviction.To the extent the bill would amend statutory provisions relating to rights of defendants in certainconditions, no significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
