The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code to provide that federal regulations relating to the interstate transport of oysters that have not been post-harvest treated oysters do not apply to oysters harvested, sold and consumed within Texas. The bill would take immediate effect if it receives two-thirds the vote of members in both houses. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2011. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
