                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 1, 2011      TO: Honorable Sid Miller, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB78 by Flynn (Relating to the purchase of food and beverages by certain state law enforcement agencies for peace officer training functions.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Education Code, Government Code, and Parks and Wildlife Code to permit certain law enforcement agencies to use appropriated funds to purchase food and beverages for training functions required of certain peace officers. The bill would take effect immediately upon a two-thirds vote of all the members of each house. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2011. No significant fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.  Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
