                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 6, 2011      TO: Honorable Jane Nelson, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB824 by Villarreal (Relating to an outreach campaign to promote fathers' involvement with their children before birth.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Family Code and require the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) to develop and update a publication that provides information to prospective fathers. In addition, the bill would require that the OAG make the publication available to the public and certain agencies, organizations, and health related entities. It is anticipated that any additional costs associated with implementation of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
