 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum at
 Texas A&M University in College Station received its two-millionth
 visitor on January 21, 2011; and
 WHEREAS, Honoring and preserving the legacy of America's 41st
 president, the library and museum details the lifetime that George
 H. W. Bush spent in public service, including as a U.S. Navy pilot
 in World War II, a member of Congress, an ambassador to the United
 Nations, chief liaison to China, director of the Central
 Intelligence Agency, vice president, and president; and
 WHEREAS, The George Bush Presidential Library Center
 contains the official records, personal papers, and memorabilia of
 President Bush, features changing exhibits, photographs, and
 artifacts, and offers tours, summer camps, and interactive learning
 opportunities for students; and
 WHEREAS, More than 150,000 people a year have visited the
 library and museum since the facility opened to the public in 1997,
 contributing millions of dollars annually to the local economy and
 contributing to job growth in the greater Brazos Valley area; in
 addition, President Bush continues to take part in many of the
 programs at the center, and library and museum volunteers have
 donated an average of more than 20,000 hours per year, thus heeding
 his example of service above self; and
 WHEREAS, A resource for education, research, and civic life
 in the Brazos Valley and the Lone Star State, the George Bush
 Presidential Library and Museum is a tremendous asset for all
 Texans who seek to learn about government, history, freedom, and
 the presidency; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the George Bush Presidential
 Library and Museum on receiving its two-millionth visitor and
 extend to all those associated with the facility sincere best
 wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the center as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
