R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Edinburg Children's Hospital celebrated the fifth
anniversary of its establishment on March 26, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Opened in March 2006, the hospital provides general
pediatric care, diagnostic cardiology, and surgical services to
young people of the Rio Grande Valley; and
WHEREAS, With a rapidly increasing number of young families,
the Valley is one of the fastest growing areas in the state, and as
the only children's hospital located south of Corpus Christi, the
Edinburg facility eliminates the need for parents to take their
children far from home for hospital care and provides an invaluable
service to the people of the region; and
WHEREAS, Edinburg Children's Hospital has made a positive
difference in countless lives, and an anniversary commemoration
provides a fitting opportunity to recognize the hospital's
inestimable contribution to the Rio Grande Valley; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby honor Edinburg Children's Hospital on the fifth
anniversary of its founding and extend to all those associated with
the institution sincere best wishes for continued success in their
important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the hospital as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
