H.R. No. 1073 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The members of Mount Horem Missionary Baptist Church in Houston are joining together on March 27, 2011, to honor Dr. Thomas F. Freeman for six decades of dedicated service to that congregation; and WHEREAS, During his distinguished tenure, Dr. Freeman has offered comfort and encouragement to those in need, and wisdom and spiritual guidance to all who have opened their hearts to his inspiring message of faith and salvation; he has also played a positive role in the community, helping to meet the needs of area residents in myriad ways; and WHEREAS, Dr. Freeman has led Mount Horem with conviction and vision over the course of his service; under his direction, the congregation moved into a new building, and in 1972, a remarkable financial milestone was reached when the mortgage was paid in full; and WHEREAS, Success in leading a church requires a tremendous commitment of time, an ability to inspire congregants through words and deeds, and an unwavering belief in the importance of faith, and Thomas Freeman truly exemplifies the highest standards of his vocation; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby honor Dr. Thomas F. Freeman on the occasion of his 60th pastoral anniversary with Mount Horem Missionary Baptist Church and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Dr. Freeman as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
