H.R. No. 1169
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Calvin and Naomi Thompson of Canton are celebrating
their 60th wedding anniversary on April 14, 2011, and they may
indeed reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have
shared; and
WHEREAS, Calvin Ray Thompson and the former Naomi Jane Barger
exchanged the vows of matrimony at New Bethel Methodist Church in
Vergennes, Illinois, in 1951, and over the course of their
marriage, they have found in each other a loving life partner; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson count among their blessings a
fine family that includes 3 children, Lyle, Leveta, and Lowell, as
well as 4 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, with whom they
share the many special occasions of life; and
WHEREAS, For six decades, Calvin and Naomi Thompson have
brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it
is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Calvin and Naomi Thompson on their
60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Thompson as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
