H.R. No. 1190
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Members of the 2010-2011 Leadership Mid Valley class
are visiting the State Capitol on April 6, 2011, to gain further
insight into the workings of state government; and
WHEREAS, Leadership Mid Valley is an exceptional program that
provides opportunities for participants to develop leadership
skills and increase their knowledge of vital public issues; and
WHEREAS, Classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide a
diverse membership with networking opportunities and instruction
from knowledgeable figures who encourage students to acquaint
themselves with community needs and problems while evaluating
possible solutions; and
WHEREAS, This year's Leadership Mid Valley class includes
Alicia Aguilar, Alfredo Aguilera, Ashley Dickerson, Tricia
Cisneros-Givilancz, Rick Guerra, Nadia Ochoa, Daniel Ramirez,
Martin Stenhouse, and Ruby Torres; also in attendance are committee
members Gerry Bower, Frances Contreras, Sulema Cuellar, Yolanda
Cuellar, Joel Vanderveer, and Gloria Givilancz, as well as staff
member Martha Noell; and
WHEREAS, Endeavoring to foster a more informed and involved
citizenry and to develop new leaders in South Texas, the program is
helping to build a brighter and more promising future for the Lone
Star State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby welcome Leadership Mid Valley to the State
Capitol and extend to all participants sincere best wishes for
continued success.
