H.R. No. 1282
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Bill and Mary Felkner
of Robinson celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on
March 10, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Bill Felkner and the former Mary Nita Lewis were
joined in matrimony in 1961 at a ceremony held at Center Terrace
Baptist Church in Canton, Mississippi; they have been blessed with
a treasured family that includes two children, Susan Allen and her
husband, Mickey, and Billy Felkner, as well as two grandchildren,
Mickey and Emily; and
WHEREAS, Retired from Baylor University, where she worked as
the ticket manager of the athletic department, Mrs. Felkner remains
actively employed today with a local business; Mr. Felkner is the
former sales manager of KCEN-TV and owner of Business Specialties;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Felkner have enjoyed five decades of
abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Bill and Mary Felkner on their
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Felkner as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
