H.R. No. 1290
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, In a display of skill and determination, the
baseball team of Midway High School in Waco won the 2011 Frisco
Tournament of Champions; and
WHEREAS, Held at Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, the event took
place March 10 through 12, 2011, and featured 14 of the top high
school teams in the area; and
WHEREAS, With their exceptional play, the Panthers
progressed through the tournament to earn a spot in the
championship game; there, they triumphed over Wakeland High School
by a score of 11-4 to take top honors in the competition; and
WHEREAS, Midway's tournament victory further demonstrated
its ability to excel against talented opponents, and the players
may take justifiable pride in this achievement; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Midway High School baseball
team on winning the 2011 Frisco Tournament of Champions and extend
to the athletes, coaches, and staff sincere best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
