R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Recipients of the Reginald Keith Guillory
Scholarship are being honored at the Academic Achievement Awards
Luncheon in Houston on April 16, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Established in memory of its namesake, the
scholarship fund pays tribute to the legacy of Reginald Keith
Guillory, a graduate of Forest Brook High School and a member of
Mount Pleasant Baptist Church; the award is presented to
college-bound students who have demonstrated an ability and
eagerness to excel; and
WHEREAS, The 2011 scholarship recipients are Chelsea Clark,
Priscilla Dubose, Maureen Ezekor, Raveen Fite, Courtney Flake,
Kathryn Fletcher, Christopher J. Flix, Jairus R. Francis, Ta'Marcus
Land, and Deonshae' Robbins; and
WHEREAS, These noteworthy young Texans have worked toward
their goals with great resolve, and they may indeed look with
anticipation and optimism toward the challenges and opportunities
that lie ahead; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the 2011 recipients of the Reginald
Keith Guillory Scholarship and extend to them sincere best wishes
for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
