R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Ronnie and Vicki
Buchanan of Hallsville celebrated this joyous milestone in their
marriage on February 18, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Sweethearts at Hallsville High School, Mr. and Mrs.
Buchanan were joined in matrimony in 1961 at a ceremony held at the
Church of Christ in Hallsville; through the years, they have been
blessed with a treasured family that includes two children and
their spouses, Ronnelle and Robby Bridges and Brandy and Stephanie
Buchanan, as well as four grandchildren, Macy and Case Buchanan and
Rayven and Rustin Bridges; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Buchanan graduated from the Texas A&M University
Auctioneering Institute, and in addition to cattle ranching, he
works with several area livestock commission companies; Mrs.
Buchanan attended Louisiana Tech University and The University of
Texas at Tyler and is employed as a cosmetology instructor at
Kilgore College; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan have enjoyed five decades of
abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Ronnie and Vicki Buchanan on their
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
