H.R. No. 1524
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Patty Fallek is being honored as a Shining Star of
Hidalgo County on April 26, 2011; and
WHEREAS, The Shining Star Awards are presented by the Zonta
Club of West Hidalgo County, an organization working to advance the
status of women through service and advocacy; and
WHEREAS, Recognized for her contributions to the community,
Ms. Fallek has been an active and dedicated volunteer, and her
efforts have benefited countless South Texas residents through the
years; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Fallek has supported the American Cancer Society
and its Relay for Life initiative and the Vannie E. Cook, Jr.,
Children's Cancer and Hematology Clinic; she has also shared her
time with local schools, the Junior League of McAllen, Habitat for
Humanity, and Temple Emanuel; and
WHEREAS, Patty Fallek continues to demonstrate the positive
difference one committed individual can make in her community, and
her many significant accomplishments are helping to make the Rio
Grande Valley an even better place in which to live and work; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Patty Fallek on being named a
Shining Star of Hidalgo County by the Zonta Club and extend to her
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Fallek as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
