R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
of Jessie Faye Johnson of Waco, who passed away on March 26, 2011,
at the age of 85; and
WHEREAS, Born in Clinton, Arkansas, on August 10, 1925, to
Jess and Maggie Smith, the former Faye Smith wed Winford Johnson on
December 25, 1947; they enjoyed a rewarding marriage of more than 60
years until his passing on August 25, 2008; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Johnson was blessed with two daughters, Sherry
and Mary Ann, as well as three grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Mrs. Johnson
will remember the way she touched their lives with her wonderful
smile and her fun-loving, vivacious spirit, and she will forever
hold a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Jessie Faye Johnson
and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
daughters and son-in-law, Mary Ann Thurman and Sherry and Bob
Cragen; to her three grandchildren, Sean Thurman, Kelly Preddy, and
Andi Cragen; to her three great-grandchildren, Morgan, Jackson, and
Sadie Thurman; to her sister, Jo Taylor; and to her other relatives
and friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Faye
Johnson.
